Bicentenary Celebration!

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Join us as we re-create our own Sochi-Style Olympics,

experience fabulous new lunsj recipes, learn what

the fox REALLY says, and celebrate 200 years of Nordic

independence, influence, and innovation!
Some of our instructors are from Norway!

We've had great turnouts for our classes!

 

SCHEDULE FOR 2014

 

Week 2, June 6-20  -  8 - adults

8:30am dropp off and 5:15pm pick up every day

 

Monday

   Extreme sports at Gray's field

   Scavenger hunt in the woods

   Swimming pool

   What the Fox really says

evening activity: 7-9pm How to train your dargaon 2 at the cinema (free for campers)

 

Tuesday

   Rosemaling with Betty Dowe

   Norwegian Lessons

   17. mai

   Weaving bookmarks

evening activity: 7-9pm Knitting Klubb with KJersti and Karen

 

Wednesday

   Kari Tauring program with games and songs

   Norwegian Lessons

   Slow TV

   Norsk Bingo

   Sewing Bag and Felting

   Weaving

evening activity: 7-9pm Cross stitch

 

Thursday

   Norwegian lessons

   Askeladded fairytale

   Sewing Bag and Felting

   Weaving

evening activity: 7-9pm on your own. Tube night at the local pool (free to campers)

 

Friday

   Review of songs and skits

   Baking Lessons

   Prepare for parade

   PARENTS, FRIENDS AND FAMILY

   Parade between church and the Heritage Center

   Followed by a final program at the Cinema

   Lunch and goodbyes

 

 

Week 1, June 9-13  -  4 - 7 year olds

8:30am dropp off and 2:30pm pick up every day

 

Monday

  Check in at customs to get your passport.

   Intro to slow-TV, songs and games

   History of 17. mai

   Group Project: Parade Banners and Celebration song for the Bincentenary

   Norwegian Lessons & Luren Singers

   What the Fox really says.

   Askeladden comes to life! (through creation of skit).

 

Tuesday

   Rosemaling with Betty Dowe

   Felting and weaving

 

Wednesday

   Howard Burtness and the Vikings

   Kari Tauring with games and songs

   Continue to learn what the Fox and his friends say

   Askeladden turns into a skit

 

Thursday

   Drop off at the Birding Trail

   Scavenger hunt

   Extreme sports

   Real goats show up with Sharon Wiste

   Swimming pool

   Askeladden skit polish

 

Friday

   Review of songs and skits

   Baking Lessons

   Prepare for parade

   11am PARENTS, FRIENDS AND FAMILY

   Parade between church and the Heritage Center

   Followed by a final program at the Cinema

   Lunch and goodbyes
